Public website and management platform

Website and management platform for a private hospital

A public website for a new private hospital in Islamabad, and a staff-only dashboard behind it for the website, appointments, patients, clinical visits, staff, inventory, expenses and documents, with strict server-side access control.

The brief

Adam Healthcare Center, a new private hospital in Islamabad, needed two things at once: a credible public website that families could trust and use to request appointments, and, behind it, a system for the people who run the hospital day to day. Records in a hospital are sensitive, so who can see what mattered as much as what the screens do. The team also wanted to change the website themselves, with no developer in the way.

What we built for the website

  • Services, departments and doctors: nine service areas, doctor and team profiles, and booking forms that show only the services that fit the chosen department or doctor.
  • Appointment requests and a contact page with a map and protection against spam.
  • Patient information with frequently asked questions, hospital offers, an international health days page, and careers with online applications.
  • Health articles with a table of contents, related articles and videos, a share bar and moderated comments.
  • Legal pages written for Pakistan and Islamabad, editable by the team.
  • Built to be found and used: structured data, a sitemap, automatic internal links, a mobile action bar, and an automated accessibility scan with no violations on the pages checked.

What we built for the dashboard

  • Website management: departments, services, doctors, team, notices, homepage sections, opening hours, pages, articles, gallery, menus, logo and letterhead. Content goes live from the dashboard the moment it is published, with a media library that can make many images live, draft or deleted at once.
  • Front desk: appointment requests with a status workflow and assignment, an outpatient front desk that issues tokens, and offers applied at the desk.
  • Patient portal: patients register and sign in. Reports appear to a patient only after the hospital has confirmed who the account belongs to and a second person has verified the report.
  • Clinical records: a medicine master, patient visits opened from the outpatient token, a prescription builder with frozen versions and amendments, English and Urdu wording, and printing on the hospital's letterhead. Admissions cover doctors' and nurses' visits, the discharge order, the administrator's approval and the discharge slip. A laboratory test catalogue is built in stages, with the normal values validated by a second person.
  • Staff and HR: staff records with sensitive fields restricted at the data layer, contracts, leave, travel and letter requests routed through supervisors (including who acts when a supervisor is away), payroll with approval and payment steps, recruitment, and staff documents verified by a second person.
  • Inventory and assets: stock changes only through recorded movements, each kept in a permanent history; assets with a record of place and holder; daily logs; low-stock and expiry alerts.
  • Expenses and reports: an expense is a draft, then approved by someone other than the person who raised it, then paid. Twenty reports, each shown only to the roles allowed to see it, with Excel, Word, CSV and print.
  • Access and oversight: users, roles and access requests with levels, escalation and delegation; an audit log; system settings; a document library where private files are never served from a public address.

Engineering notes

The project has an automated test suite for its business rules and a written security review, and was delivered in stages, each reviewed with the client before the next. Sample data used during development was fictional and removed before real use.
